In 2023, Anthony Maina, the Stoke Newington Paedophile, 52, of Allen Road, was sentenced at Wood Green Crown Court on Thursday after being convicted of 17 charges, including seven counts of rape.
The court was informed that Anthony Maina leveraged a position of trust to groom the girl by purchasing gifts, clothing, food, and mobile phones to normalise the cruelty he perpetrated.
He described the victim as “his girl” and “his best friend in the universe,” frequently accusing her of “neglecting” him whenever she failed to maintain communication.
Anthony Maina would seclude her from others to undermine her confidence and deter her from questioning his actions.
Anthony Maina would invite the survivor to his property on deceptive pretexts, such as to collect a parcel or grant access to workmen, and subsequently perpetrate abuse against her.
When she started to contest this, he would imply to other family members that she was being uncooperative, effectively coercing her to visit his property.
