Alexander Hall, the South Normanton Paedophile, who attempted to groom a child online and orchestrate a meeting for sexual purposes, has been incarcerated.
Alexander Hall transmitted a series of explicit messages to an individual with whom he had initiated communication in a chatroom.
Although the individual explicitly informed Hall of their age being 14, this did not deter the 48-year-old from pursuing sexual advances.
Unbeknownst to Alexander Hall, he was actually engaging with a decoy account established by an online kid advocacy organisation.
Unaware of this, he persisted in sending progressively sexualised communications to the “girl” over a duration of nine months.
This continued until July 2024, when Alexander Hall proposed that they meet at a tavern in Nottinghamshire.
The paedophile, believing he had persuaded the underage girl to engage in sexual activity, proceeded to the predetermined place.
Instead, he was confronted by Nottinghamshire Police officers, who had received a tip-off regarding Alexander Hall’s activities and were prepared to apprehend him.
Alexander Hall was charged with attempting to meet a girl under the age of 16 after grooming her and attempting to engage in sexual communication with a minor.
After pleading guilty to both charges, he appeared at Nottingham Crown Court for sentencing on Wednesday, October 8.
Alexander Hall, residing on New Street in South Normanton, Derbyshire, was sentenced to two and a half years of incarceration.
He was additionally subjected to a sexual harm prevention order until further notice.
