Abid Khanzada, the Camden Rapist, was incarcerated after law enforcement intervened upon identifying his attire via CCTV footage from one of his offences.

Abid Khanzada, 27, perpetrated a series of offences against solitary women in Camden from January 15 to January 21.

Five women, primarily in their early 20s, were sexually abused by Khanzada.

Abid Khanzada, hailing from Camden, forcibly shoved one victim to the ground before to perpetrating a sexual assault against her, as presented in Wood Green Crown Court.

Abid Khanzada restrained the victim against her front door and sexually attacked her, ceasing only when confronted by a bystander.

Officers from the Central North Public Protection Unit meticulously reviewed extensive hours of CCTV material from the crime scenes.

In the early hours of February 25, police from the Public Protection Predatory Offender Unit were patrolling the vicinity of the assaults when they observed an individual dressed in attire resembling that of the suspect.

Abid Khanzada also conformed to the physical description given to law enforcement. He was apprehended and, while in detention, provided a “no comment” interview.

Abid Khanzada was ultimately charged with four counts of sexual assault and one count of digital penetration.

On June 5, he entered a guilty plea at Wood Green Crown Court for four charges of sexual assault. On July 19, he entered a guilty plea for sexual assault by penetration at the same court prior to the trial.

Abid Khanzada was incarcerated for three years on September 13.

DCI Steve Tod, who spearheaded the investigation, stated: “We were resolutely committed to identifying the individual accountable for such grave offences and ensuring his prosecution.”

“Abid Khanzada constituted a considerable menace to women.” He exposed these victims to a harrowing experience, and I wish to commend each of them for their courage in coming forward. Recounting their experiences will have been profoundly distressing, yet their actions have guaranteed that he will not be able to assault additional women.

“Individuals should not endure the apprehension of becoming victims of such egregious crimes while engaging in their daily activities, and we will persist in our efforts to ensure that women feel secure on the streets of London.”
