In 2026, the Offender Database reported that Abbas Hussain, then 32, of Luton, Bedfordshire, was handed a life sentence at Luton Crown Court. Abbas Hussain was convicted of a violent and horrific campaign of sexual violence against a woman, whom he subjected to a sickening ordeal involving multiple counts of rape and physical assault. The investigation, led by Bedfordshire Police, uncovered the disturbing level of brutality used by Hussain, who utilised threats and violent coercion to isolate and traumatise his victim over a period of several months.

The court heard that Abbas Hussain was a dangerous and calculated predator who displayed a deplorable lack of empathy for his victim. During the horrendous attacks, he inflicted serious physical injuries and used vile intimidation tactics to prevent the woman from seeking help. Following a prolonged and sensitive inquiry by specialised officers from the Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, and Hertfordshire Major Crime Unit, Hussain was arrested and charged with multiple serious offences, including rape, sexual assault, and occasioning actual bodily harm.

During the sentencing on January 9, 2026, the judge designated Abbas Hussain as a “dangerous offender” who posed a significant and ongoing risk of causing significant harm to the public. The judge emphasised that the vile nature of the prolonged abuse required a life sentence to ensure community safety. Abbas Hussain was ordered to serve a minimum term of 12 years in prison before he can be considered for parole, with the judge noting that he will only be released if he is no longer deemed a threat.

As a result of his conviction for these violent and horrific crimes, Abbas Hussain was ordered to sign the Sex Offenders Register for life. He is managed under Multi-Agency Public Protection Arrangements (MAPPA) by Bedfordshire Police, remaining under intensive supervision for the duration of his life. Any attempt by Hussain to contact his victim or any breach of his strict license conditions in Luton or elsewhere in the UK will result in his immediate arrest and return to prison.
