A deviant paedophile couple, Wendy Mason and Mark Mason, has been revealed through their disturbing WhatsApp exchanges. Wendy Mason referred to her paedophile husband Mark as “hubby/rapist” in a message.
The Daily Record adds that the couple were convicted of a series of offences involving images of child abuse, bestiality, and other activities too heinous to disclose.
In August 2021, Wendy Mason, 53, sent a WhatsApp message to Mark Mason, 51, saying: “I love you beyond measure, Mr Mason/hubby/Daddy/owner/pedo/rapist.”
The message is signed with kisses, and warped Mason responds with smileys. The text was part of a dossier of evidence presented to Dumfries Sheriff Court, which a sheriff described as the sickest file he had encountered in 30 years of examining evidence. It is not known if Mason did carry out any rape or if the claim is a sordid fantasy.
Earlier this month, Mason was jailed at Dumfries Sheriff Court for 34 months after being caught with the twisted material at his home in Lockerbie, Dumfriesshire. After the couple’s phones were seized, a hoard of more than 600 photos and videos was found, with almost half being Category A – the most seriously depraved.
Sheriff Kevin McCallum KC told Mason he had never encountered such images in a three-decade legal career. The Daily Record can also reveal Mason created a fake online identity using a photo of a handsome young man and the moniker “Sexy Bum”.
He was convicted of attempting to indecently speak to six children – who were actually undercover adult “paedo hunters” working to weed out predators online.
A source said: “It is difficult for any normal person to understand how any sexual pleasure could be derived from the material they shared. Their sexual appetites included extreme porn, incest and sadism – all beyond the understanding of ordinary people.
“Wendy Mason and Mark Mason plumbed the depths, trawling the net for material that got worse and worse, as though they were in a race to find the very pit of depravity. The images are among the worst any officer in Scotland has been unfortunate enough to view.
“Wendy Mason’s lawyer tried to make out she was under the control of her husband but that was just a sex thing between them, where she was subservient to him.
“The reality is that she was a very willing participant in the gathering of horrific material, including the rape of children. It will be sickening to most people that Mark Mason was given less than three years in jail and his wife escaped a custodial sentence.”
The probe found Wendy Mason had searched for sites like “Lolitas” and “teen chatting apps for teenagers 13”. A phone belonging to her also contained a file from the Telegram encrypted platform stating, “Send me cheese pizza”.
The phrase “cheese pizza” is a codeword among paedophile networks for child abuse images. Mark Mason was jailed for 34 months and placed on the sex offenders register indefinitely.
His wife was ordered to carry out 300 hours of unpaid work, tagged for nine months and put under supervision for three years. She will also be on the sex offenders register for five years. She was also made subject to a five-year sexual harm prevention order. The sick pair, Wendy Mason and Mark Mason, admitted a string of charges spanning between February 2021 and April 2022.
