A 31-year-old man from Nottingham, Steven Ross, has received a one-year prison sentence for sexually assaulting a young woman.

After an investigation by the British Transport Police, Steven Ross, born on May 1, 1994, of no permanent address, was convicted following a trial on Tuesday, April 15, and sentenced at Birmingham Crown Court on Wednesday, July 30.

Steven Ross received a 12-month prison sentence, was placed on the sex offenders registry for 10 years, and was issued a five-year Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO), in addition to a victim surcharge of £187.

The SHPO restricts Ross from accessing any railway station in the UK unless travelling with a valid ticket and forbids him from possessing or consuming open alcohol in any unlicensed establishment.
