Robert Gates, the Ludlow Paedophile and Sex Offender, a man from Shropshire, has received a 24-month prison term after pleading guilty to distributing obscene photographs of minors, while already serving a suspended sentence for the same offence.
Robert Gates, from Ludlow, received a sentence after pleading guilty to two charges of producing obscene pictures of minors and two counts of disseminating such images.
The court was informed that the 70-year-old received a two-year suspended sentence in November 2024 for analogous offences.
In August 2025, police were informed by the Metropolitan Police that a man they had recently apprehended for disseminating pornographic photographs of children online had recently communicated with Gates.
Officers promptly apprehended Robert Gates once more and confiscated several gadgets from his residence, where they uncovered two category B photos and two category C images of minors.
It was also revealed that Robert Gates participated in internet discussions on the sexual exploitation of minors.
Robert Gates was then charged with the charges to which he pleaded guilty.
On Friday, November 7, Robert Gates received a 12-month jail term at Shrewsbury Crown Court for the charges, in addition to another 12 months for violating his suspended sentence. The two clauses are to be executed sequentially.
