In 2018, the Offender Database reported that Mark Godfrey, 55, formerly of Eastbourne, was sentenced at court.

Mark Godfrey was jailed for nine years after being found guilty of four counts of indecent assault against a young girl. The offences took place in Eastbourne over a period of six years, beginning when the victim was just five years old and continuing until she was 13.

Mark Godfrey was ordered to sign the sex offenders register for life and was made the subject of a Sexual Harm Prevention Order. Detective Constable Emma Penrose-Reed stated that Mark Godfrey had calculatedly taken advantage of the young girl’s extreme vulnerability.
