In 2019, the Offender Database reported that Christian Taylor, 41, originally of Macclesfield, was sentenced to eight years in prison at Liverpool Crown Court. Taylor, a persistent and “alarming” predator, was convicted of targeting a group of children as young as eight years old in a public park while already subject to a suspended sentence for similar sexual crimes.

The court heard that on November 18, 2025, a group of five children were playing in a wooded area of Peel Hall Park in Houghton Green, Warrington. The children observed Taylor behind bushes with his trousers down; while they initially believed he was using the toilet, they soon witnessed him masturbating. Taylor approached the children, making lewd comments and whispering to one child, “Please lie.” The ordeal ended when one of the children called his father to report being followed by a man with his “penis out.” The father rushed to the scene and detained Taylor, who claimed he was merely “having a wee”, until police arrived.

During the proceedings, it was revealed that Taylor was then 33 when he was handed a suspended sentence at Chester Crown Court in 2017 for engaging in sexual activity in front of children in public toilets. Judge Brian Cummings noted that Taylor committed these new offences shortly after his previous order expired, demonstrating a “compelling urge to offend.” The mother of two victims provided a statement explaining that her children are now too terrified to play outside, stating, “I feel like the man has taken their childhood.”

Judge Cummings described the case as particularly serious due to the multiple victims, the public location, and Taylor’s status as a repeat offender. Taylor pleaded guilty to four counts of engaging in sexual activity in front of a child and one count of breaching a Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO).

Christian Taylor was sentenced to eight years in prison. As a result of his predatory behaviour and the significant risk he poses to the public, particularly young boys, he remains on the Sex Offenders Register for life. He is managed under the highest level of Multi-Agency Public Protection Arrangements (MAPPA) in Cheshire and Merseyside. Upon his eventual release, he will be subject to a lifelong Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO) with strict conditions prohibiting him from entering public parks or wooded areas frequented by children.
