A mother shot a convicted Indianapolis Pedophile child molester, Bruce Pierce, when she reportedly saw him attempting to rape her 12-year-old daughter in a hotel room, according to several local sources.

The incident occurred in Indianapolis on Saturday at the Baymont Inn located on Eagle View Drive.

The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department verified to WXIN that Bruce Pierce, 39, sustained critical injuries in the incident.

Court documents acquired by WXIN, WTHR, and WIBC indicate that the 12-year-old girl accompanied a relative to the hotel in search of her mother. Her mother was discovered in the motel with Pierce.

The court filings indicate that the mother briefly left her daughter unattended in the hotel room with Bruce Pierce while she transported some belongings to her vehicle.

Upon the mother’s return, she purportedly discovered Bruce Pierce over her daughter, in the act of removing her clothing. He is additionally charged with possessing a firearm in his hand.

According to court filings, the girl’s mother purportedly yelled at Bruce Pierce to cease, drew her firearm, and shot him.

The mother and daughter subsequently fled the hotel and departed in a vehicle, but they contacted the police and returned to the location.

Bruce Pierce was sent to the hospital in a critical state. Although a warrant for his arrest has been issued, officials have confirmed to WXIN that he is still hospitalised.

A court case description submitted online on Wednesday by the State of Indiana indicates that Bruce Pierce is confronting several counts, including attempted rape, attempted child molestation, unauthorised possession of a firearm by a major violent criminal, and the imprisonment of a victim under 14 years of age.

Bruce Pierce is registered on the Marion County Sheriff’s Office sex offender registry. Online documents indicate his registration in 2019, categorising him as a “sexually violent predator.”

The registration indicates he was previously convicted of two child molestation offences in 2016 and received a multi-year prison sentence.

The potential for charges against the 12-year-old’s mother in the shooting case of Bruce Pierce remains uncertain.
