The British Transport Police (BTP) have released a CCTV image and are appealing for witnesses following the sexual assault of a 17-year-old boy on a train in Sussex. The incident occurred on the afternoon of Wednesday, 8 October 2025.

According to investigators, the victim was travelling on a service between Brighton and Hampden Park in Eastbourne at approximately 4:40 p.m. During the journey, a man approached the teenager and sat next to him before carrying out the sexual assault. The suspect then left the area.

Detectives have reviewed footage from the train and have now released an image of a man they believe has vital information that could assist their enquiries. If you recognise this individual or were travelling on the Brighton-to-Eastbourne service at the time of the incident, please get in touch with the BTP.
