In 2026, the Offender Database reported that Antony Farren, then 39, formerly of Rawtenstall, Lancashire, was sentenced to a total of 23 years at Preston Crown Court. Farren, described as a “dangerous and manipulative” individual, targeted a 15-year-old girl and subjected her to a series of vile sexual offences. The investigation by the Lancashire Constabulary East RASSO (Rape and Serious Sexual Offences) Team found that Farren had given the child drugs to facilitate the abuse in Rawtenstall, Rossendale.
The court heard horrendous details of the predatory behaviour, during which Antony Farren reportedly told his victim, “It feels like I’m raping you, I need to stop,” acknowledging the vicious nature of his actions while continuing the abuse. While on bail, Farren engaged in a deplorable attempt at witness intimidation by sending the victim TikTok messages in an effort to silence her. His sickening lack of remorse and continued predatory intent led the judge to classify him as a dangerous offender who poses a significant threat to children.
Following a trial in Preston, Lancashire, Farren was found guilty of two counts of sexual activity with a child, four counts of other sexual offences, and witness intimidation. DC Sarah Andrews praised the survivor for her “incredible bravery” in reliving her horrific ordeal during the trial. The 23-year sentence, consisting of 15 years in custody and an eight-year extended licence, was welcomed by the Lancashire Constabulary as a necessary measure to protect the public from Farren’s abhorrent crimes.
As a result of his convictions for these vile sexual crimes, Antony Farren was ordered to sign the Sex Offenders Register for life. He was also made subject to an indefinite Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO). He is managed under Multi-Agency Public Protection Arrangements (MAPPA) by Lancashire Constabulary, remaining under intensive supervision for the duration of his life. Any further predatory behaviour or breach of his strict registration requirements in Rawtenstall, Preston, or elsewhere will result in his immediate arrest and return to prison.
