Stoke Paedophile and Child rapist, Andrew Sidaway, has received an extended prison sentence of 25 years. The 59-year-old perpetrated sexual assault against his teenage victim on multiple occasions.

However, she approached and notified the police in 2021.

Andrew Sidaway, residing on Maclagan Street in Stoke, refuted all allegations but was found guilty of five counts of raping a child under the age of 13 during a trial at Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court in May.

He was exonerated of the charge of penetrating a kid under the age of 13.

Prosecutor Jamie Scott stated that there was no evidence indicating that Andrew Sidaway had mistreated other children.

He stated that the defendant, Andrew Sidaway, communicated with an undercover police officer, revealing a sexual interest in youngsters.

The court was informed that Andrew Sidaway has prior convictions for downloading and viewing thousands of obscene photographs of minors and for violating the notification obligations of the sex offenders’ register.

Judge Hancox imposed a 25-year extended sentence on Andrew Sidaway, consisting of 21 years of incarceration and an additional four-year extended licence period.

Judge Hancox said: “The serious sexual offending you perpetrated on your victim has impacted her through childhood and into adulthood. What you did to her will always be part of her.

“You are now entirely alone. Worryingly the pre-sentence report contains continued denials of your sexual wrongdoing.

“I am satisfied you do provide a risk. A determinate sentence would not fully address the risk you possess. I find it necessary to pass an extended sentence to protect the public in the future.”

Andrew Sidaway must serve two thirds of the custodial term (14 years) with the rest on licence.

He was made the subject of an indefinite Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO) and placed on the sex offenders’ register for life.
