Abdul Helim, the Oldham Rapist and Sex Offender, has been incarcerated following his conviction for raping a woman at a restaurant in Frodsham.
Abdul Helim received a six-year prison sentence at Chester Crown Court on Friday, November 7.
A 50-year-old resident of Grange Avenue, Oldham, was previously convicted of rape and possession of indecent photographs of children after a three-day trial.
The court was informed that the victim encountered Abdul Helim at the India Garden Restaurant in Frodsham.
The couple established a sexual relationship and convened at the eatery.
In late 2022, Abdul Helim requested the victim to perform an action to which she did not consent. Notwithstanding her rejection, he proceeded to assault the woman sexually.
The event was then reported to the police, and in October 2023, following the initiation of the investigation, Abdul Helim was apprehended in connection with the charges.
During interrogation, he refuted any romantic involvement with the woman, asserting that they were merely acquaintances and had never engaged in sexual activity.
Officers analysed mobile phone data and retrieved a collection of messages between the individuals, which explicitly referenced their relationship multiple times.
Furthermore, detectives uncovered that Abdul Helim had possessed several indecent photos of minors.
Besides his incarceration, Abdul Helim has been mandated to register as a sex offender for life and has been issued an indefinite restraining order to safeguard the victim.
