A Salisbury Sex Offender, Cameron Mackay, has been unanimously convicted of sexually abusing one woman and strangled another after a trial.
Cameron Mackay, 37, of Rougemont Close, Salisbury, appeared at Portsmouth Crown Court last week on charges of assault by penetration, sexual assault, indecent exposure, real bodily harm, and intentional strangulation.
He was convicted by the jury of all charges and remanded to custody. He is scheduled for sentencing on 14 November at Salisbury Crown Court.
In about April 2022, Cameron Mackay intoxicated one of the victims, a lady in her 40s, after she had been invited to the suspect’s residence by a friend. The woman subsequently fell asleep and awoke to discover Mackay perpetrating sexual assault against her.
In February 2023, the victim, a woman in her 30s, encountered Cameron Mackay when he was walking his dog, during which he extended an invitation for her to accompany him to his residence.
He subsequently revealed himself to her, prompting her to attempt to go. Cameron Mackay subsequently assaulted her, restraining her with both hands around her neck.
The victim successfully defended herself and fled the premises.
Both events were reported to the police in around June 2023. Subsequent to an inquiry by South CID, Cameron Mackay was indicted.
