A sex offender aspiring to reside in Peterhead, Sandy Ross, post-release has been re-incarcerated for violating his court order by engaging with women online.

Sandy Ross, prohibited from communicating with women online or electronically without informing the police, appeared in court last week.

During a prior hearing in his case, the 32-year-old, presently in custody at HMP Grampian, acknowledged adding two women to Facebook group chats to communicate with them, and instigating fear and panic in a teenager by appearing at her door while wielding a weapon.

Last week, the court was informed that Sandy Ross had an extensive record of prior convictions, including numerous violations of his sex offender orders, stalking, and domestic assaults.

His latest conviction, resulting in incarceration on October 5, 2023, was for possession of a bladed weapon and assault with a weapon.

Sandy Ross was discharged from that sentence on May 17, 2024, to the Macduff area, but encountered legal issues again the next day when an unannounced home visit by officers revealed contact information for several women on his mobile phone.
