The Chorley Paedophile, Anthony McFarlane, 34, has been incarcerated for engaging in sexualised online communication with a girl he thought to be 14 years old.
Anthony McFarlane, 34, engaged in inappropriate discussions over the social media site KIK and orchestrated a meeting with the girl at a hotel in Chorley.
Nevertheless, the individual with whom Anthony McFarlane was conversing was, in reality, an adult serving as a decoy for an organisation dedicated to identifying sexual predators.
On April 11th of this year, Anthony McFarlane was apprehended by members of the group at the hotel and subsequently arrested by our officers.
Over 200 texts were exchanged between Anthony McFarlane and the impostor.
The texts indicated that Anthony McFarlane unequivocally believed he was conversing with a youngster, and the content was sexual in nature.
One of Anthony McFarlane’s messages stated: “Consider the fact that I am meeting an underage girl who is residing at my place.” That is the apprehensive and daunting aspect; do you understand me? “If we are apprehended, I will be incarcerated.”
Anthony McFarlane, previously residing on Moor Road, Chorley, appeared at Preston Crown Court on Thursday, July 24th, after admitting to attempting to engage in sexual communication with a minor and attempting to induce a girl aged between 13 and 15 to participate in sexual conduct.
He was incarcerated for three years, registered as a lifelong sex offender, and subjected to a 10-year Sexual Harm Prevention Order.
